Google announced the latest update to the Android logo, the classic green robot, earlier this year at CES 2023. Knowledgeable sources at 9to5Google are confident that this bulky version of the logo will soon become official, along with an updated signature font. The company will likely ditch the “flat aesthetic” of the previous 2019 model refresh.

Specialist news agencies note that Google first showed the “bug droid”‘s 3D head on its Keyword blog in early January, and since then, new examples and the updated logo have been verified repeatedly at commercial events and conferences.

The images below show the use of the new “volumetric” logo, for example, in advertisements for the Android operating system and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship. Analysts at 9to5Google believe the redesigned brand identity will soon become official, but Google is very strict about the launch of the new logo – details will be announced at a later date.

Industry experts claim that Google’s new design language will be released with the release of Android 14, codenamed Upside Down Cake. The next generation mobile operating system is currently in beta testing (version 3) and the software platform has reached stability.
