The US Army has announced plans to upgrade its main infantry fighting vehicle, the Bradley. The platform based on the Bradley Combat Vehicle will be named XM30, and in 2025 evaluation of proposed prototypes supplied by BAE Systems, Oshkosh Defense and Point Blank Enterprises will begin.
The army wants to purchase a hybrid armored vehicle with a number of versatile capabilities, including 50 mm cannon, remote turret, anti-tank guided missiles, machine guns used with an advanced third-generation perspective system, intelligent fire control. .
An unmanned aerial vehicle must have sufficient size, weight, architecture, power, and cooling for ground and air targets to simulate prior battlefield engagements.
The Army also expects the upgraded Bradley to be remotely controllable while the crew is off-platform and its computer systems to be compatible with a synthetic training environment. The XM30 platform of the future must learn to fight alongside other unmanned combat platforms such as robotic combat vehicles or radio-controlled drones. Source
