New package of sanctions: Russian car owners will again “suffer” from political restrictions
Lightning! Another package of stunning restrictions has been put in place against Russia and its citizens that will surely bring our entire country to its knees and force us to stop what we started. So it’s written on a piece of paper, so it’s replicated by free media with friendly faces, or so they probably think in European kitchens. In fact, the restrictions flew over the French capital again. Details are on the AvtoVzglyad portal.

The automotive part of the Russian market has received a new “digit” from Europe: cars with an engine capacity of more than 1.9 liters cannot be delivered. Checkmate for you, fans of Range Rover, Porsche and other European chic, you drive a Zhiguli, ha ha! Even connoisseurs of the cheaper segment have little to go on, a blow to the deep people. Now the angry columns will surely reach the Kremlin walls!

Powerful input, no questions, just the direction isn’t quite right. Or actually it’s not right at all. The fact is that all the bans imposed on motorists very quickly learned to get around: firstly, the lion’s share of vehicle deliveries goes through Belarus, where it is much easier to go through customs and import them. Why is it easier?

Because the Old Man has a law that makes it possible for a certain group of beneficiaries to import one car every year with a 50% discount. Tell more? Then the cars are sent to Russia, since the states are allied. Three-quarters of European cars now come to us on Belarusian transits, and then they are registered in Russia. Did the Europeans know this? Of course they did. But to blow into a puddle – they blew. The second important argument is the import mechanism.

For a very long time, ordinary Russians do not go to Europe for cars – it is difficult, expensive, problematic. This company is completely at the mercy of the holders of European passports, of which there are quite a few in our country. A person crosses the Russian border as a Russian and, conditionally, Estonian or Polish – already as a European. Back – in the same order.

Does a European have the right to travel in a car that he bought in Europe and registered with himself? Of course that’s true. And if it has a cylinder capacity of more than two liters and costs more than fifty thousand euros? No problem, the car is personal! And no one forbade anyone to enter Russia. And then – registration at customs with us: I brought myself a car, I want to formalize it according to the laws of the Russian Federation.

Will the 11th package of sanctions change that? No, it won’t. The principle of operation remains the same, but the mechanics of the delivery of t / s to Russia will not change. But the exchange rate, or rather, the ruble, which continues to fall, will certainly raise prices. Both new cars and used. And there are no prospects of a reverse trend yet.
