Twitter will now require users to have an account on the social network to view tweets.

This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

As noted, those trying to view content on the Twitter platform will be asked to create an account or sign in to an existing account to view the posts.

Company owner Elon Musk described it as a “temporary emergency measure”.

According to him, hundreds of organizations collected data on the social network, which negatively affected the work of users.

Musk has previously expressed distaste for AI firms like OpenAI using the company’s data to train large language models.

“We will definitely prosecute those who stole our data, and we look forward to meeting them in court (by optimistic calculations) in 2-3 years,” Musk said.

In May, Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, in a letter addressed to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, urged the tech giant to scrutinize Twitter’s content usage, alleging that the social network violated its data usage agreement.

Twitter also began charging users for access to the application programming interface (API) used by third-party apps and researchers.
