The law prohibits cities and counties in Florida from issuing identifications and revokes driver’s licenses issued by 16 states and the District of Columbia to drivers without legal status.
One of the things that has caused the most fear among undocumented immigrants is that the law requires hospitals who accept Medicaid and emergency rooms, ask patients about their immigration status, and report the cost of treatment for those patients.
