The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope photographed spiral galaxy UGC 11860 in the constellation Pegasus.
This was reported by the NASA observatory, Ukrinform reports.
UGC 11860 is located about 184 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Pegasus. Recently, an incredibly powerful supernova explosion occurred in this galaxy.
It was captured at UGC 11860 in 2014 by the Brutus robotic telescope, which studies transient astronomical events (astronomical objects that can only be seen for a short time).
Two different groups of astronomers used Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 to study the aftermath and reveal the remnants of a major cosmic explosion.
The image shows the center of the galaxy glowing with warm colors and has two spiral arms surrounded by bright star forming spots.
As Ukrinform reports, the NASA/ESA Hubble telescope photographed the wrong galaxy ESO 174-1 in space.
