MobiScribe Wave Color is a mobile device with e ink color screen which serves as an electronic book reader, as a tablet and as a digital diary for taking handwritten notes thanks to the Wacom EMR stylus that supports up to 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The new MobiScribe device is based on a multi-touch screen 7.8 inches with a native resolution of 1404 x 1872 pixels in grayscale. Color low and quiet, up to 468 x 624 pixels. It should be said that E Ink’s Kaleido Plus technology, which it contains, applies a color filter to the grayscale screen, so the resolution of color content is lower than that of black and white.
It uses a quad-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A53 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is compatible with networks Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2used to connect headphones or other wireless peripherals.
It has built-in speakers and a USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging of the 2500 mAh battery. It can be said that its chassis is waterproof with IPX7 certification.
Although the MobiScribe Wave Color is designed to serve as a digital diary, it runs an Android 12-based operating system that allows it to function as tablet to useload third-party apps and use them as an e-book reader or other apps that work well with e-ink displays.
The manufacturer includes pre-installed applications for take notes and draw pictures and includes optical character recognition to convert handwritten notes to printed text. It has search capabilities and, we assume, almost everything a basic Android tablet can do, but on an e-ink screen that, as you know, excels in its ability to display texts and extremely low power consumption.
MobiScribe Wave Color is now available in some regions and at a cost 320 dollars.
