Many users from EU countries began to complain about the impossibility of accessing the Threads text service, including through a VPN. Meta, the owner of the new social network, said it has blocked access to the app in the EU.

Meta launched Topics last week, but is currently unavailable in the EU due to privacy issues with the app. The company said in a statement that it has taken additional measures to block users from accessing the new social network.
“Threads are currently unavailable in most of Europe and we’ve taken extra steps to block access to people there, Europe remains an incredibly important market for Meta and we hope to make Threads available here in the future,” the statement said. Provided by TechCrunch.
Earlier, EU users started posting screenshots on Twitter showing they were unable to access the Threads app even after using a VPN.
As reported by Ukrinform, on July 6, the company Meta launched the Threads text service, created for text exchange and expected to rival Twitter.
