There’s a new option in Samsung’s ViewFinity range: the S9.
The Samsung ViewFinity series monitor range has a new member, the S9 (S90PC model). It was first presented during the SEC 2023 and also received an honorable mention.

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 is the next in a line of high-resolution monitors. The device follows the S8, which launched in June last year. According to Samsung, this S9 is equipped with all the features for photography and graphic design.
screen time
The screen of the S9 is 27 inches and has a 5K resolution. According to Samsung, the work area is half that of other UHD monitors. This is to allow users to work fluently in high resolution without zooming in. They could view everything in 5K without losing sight of their tools.
Samsung also provided the following numbers:
- Color space: 99% DCI-P3 and 218 PPI
- Brightness: 600cd/m2
- Refresh Rate: 60Hz
- Response Time: 5ms (GtG)
- Contrast ratio (static): 1000:1
The Samsung ViewFinity S9 uses Smart Calibration so you can control color tones, white balance and more through the SmartThings app on your smartphone. This is easily done using your phone’s camera. To prevent eyestrain, the S9 features Intelligent Eye Care and the Samsung Matte Display protects against excessive reflection and glare.

As for connectivity, both Mac and Windows PC users are catered for, with inputs for:
- thunderbolt 4
- Mini Display Port
- USB-C
Thunderbolt 4 lets you charge devices up to 90W and transfer data at speeds up to 40Gbps.

The S9 has a built-in 4K SlimFit camera that connects via a pogo pin with no extra stuff. You can tilt the camera to match the angle of the monitor, and auto framing keeps you in the picture. The screen can be tilted up to ninety degrees.
streaming allowed
As for entertainment, the ViewFinity S9 has built-in smart TV apps and built-in speakers with Adaptive Sound+. The device also has a remote control.
Price
In the US, the price target for this Samsung ViewFinity S9 is currently $1,599. We’ve asked Samsung for a European price, but for now we don’t have any further information on that.
