First Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 performance data

Thanks to a new leak, we have the first performance figures for the Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800, two next-generation graphics cards that will be positioned within what we can assume to be middle class and entry into the upper class.

The Radeon RX 7700 will be the cheaper of the two. We still don’t have details on the retail price, but considering that the Radeon RX 7600 hit the market with an MSRP of €299.99, it’s most likely that it will debut with 399 euros. Its specifications would be as follows:

  • Graphics core Navi 32 in 5nm for GPU and 6nm for cache chiplets.
  • 54 computing units.
  • 3072 shaders at 1900MHz-2600MHz.
  • 192 texturing units.
  • 96 raster units.
  • 48 second generation cores to accelerate ray tracing.
  • 96 AI acceleration units.
  • 64 MB infinite cache (L3).
  • 192-bit bus.
  • 12 GB of graphics memory at 18 GHz (432 GB/s bandwidth).
  • 31.95 TFLOPs performance in FP32.
  • 180W TBP. You will need an additional 8-pin power connector.

Radeon RX 7800 clearly ranks above the previous one, both in terms of performance and price. It will most likely end up being more expensive between 499 euros and 549 euros, which would place it halfway between the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, although we must keep in mind that AMD could have refined the price based on its interests and the specific market situation at the time of launch. We also know its possible specifications:

  • Navi 32 GPU in 5nm.
  • Four 6nm L3 cache chiplets, total 64MB.
  • 60 computing units.
  • 3840 shaders at 1800MHz-2800MHz, normal and turbo mode.
  • 240 texturing units.
  • 128 raster units.
  • 120 units to speed up the AI.
  • 60 second generation units to accelerate ray tracing.
  • 256-bit bus.
  • 16 GB GDDR6 18 GHz memory (bandwidth 576 GB/s).
  • TBP: 300 watts.
  • You will need a 700 watt power supply and two additional 8 pin power connectors.

Looking at the leaked performance data corresponding to the 3DMak Time Spy test, we can see that the Radeon RX 7700 would outperform the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti by just over 500 points, and that it would also fall behind. over the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

Radeon RX 7800 would be more powerful than 10 GB GeForce RTX 3080 a it would be slightly above the GeForce RTX 4070. If we compare with Radeon RX 6000 series models, Radeon RX 7700 would be almost as powerful as Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 7800 would be slightly above Radeon RX 6800 XT.
