The Lenovo Legion Y700 is an Android tablet specially designed for gaming. Originally from 2022, the Chinese manufacturer has updated it and will launch it in its country of origin later this week to expand its range of tablets.

Mobile gaming has been greatly boosted by the large number of portable consoles arriving in recent months, which have completed a lineup that is well ahead (in sales) of the Nintendo Switch. But there are other ways to play on the go without the need for dedicated devices, and smartphones and tablets also want a piece of the cake due to their great versatility.

Lenovo has improved the device with an LCD screen 8.8 inch IPS diagonal, native resolution 2560 x 1600 pixels, refresh rate 144 Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits to make it easy to use in brightly lit scenarios.

The dimensions of your aluminum chassis unibody and anodized are also more contained, with a thickness of 7.6 mm and a weight of only 348 grams. Its SoC engine also improves with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, as does its memory, now LPDDR5X in configurations up to 16 GB.

It has two USB Type-C ports, one on the bottom and one on the side, as well as a dual camera on the back and one on the front. It supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the rest of the usual sensors in tablets and is compatible with the stylus up to 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Battery capacity is 6550 mAh, fast charging 45W.

This tablet looks good, especially if it is sold at a moderate price. It will come with Android 13 out of the box and have access to thousands of games on the Play Store. While that’s its focus, it can of course be used for other purposes, entertainment or productivity, including taking notes or drawing with support for pressure-sensitive styluses. We hope it will make it to the international channel soon.
