HarmonyOS 4.0 arrives in August with a redesigned design and new features

The trade ban in the US forced Huawei to develop its own operating system called HarmonyOS. Most Huawei phones, both in China and in the global market, now run on this operating system, but users around the world may recognize it as EMUI. The company has released three major versions of HarmonyOS, each with a few key features and updates. It is currently preparing to release the final version of HarmonyOS 4.0 in August. Details are here.

HarmonyOS 4.0 will be a reliable upgrade

Huawei will announce HarmonyOS 4.0 on August 4th. The company posted a snapshot of “what to expect in August” and some code that returns the big number 4, hinting that the announcement will be made at its annual HDC event in August. The new software should significantly change the design and add a number of new functions.

Harmony OS 4.0

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer division, pointed to various features of HarmonyOS 4.0. The new software should bring new audio improvements for Huawei cars. This will allow several people, devices, screens and audio systems to be used in the car. The operating system will also support six-zone location of the audio source.

HarmonyOS 4.0 for smartphones will bring significant design changes and new features, making it a significant upgrade over the current version. Beta testing is currently underway and some users have shared their first impressions on social media. The brand’s latest flagships, the P60, Mate 50 and Mate 40 series, are leading the beta testing process, but the OS is currently limited to China. We expect the launch to be limited to China, at least initially.

Those who have already upgraded to the HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta have reported positive experiences. The new version has improved fluency, improved interface and new features. Huawei’s version of Dynamic Island was particularly well received.
