The spacecraft was launched into space by the Long March-2C launch vehicle (Changzheng launch vehicle series) from Taiyuan Cosmodrome in northern China’s Shanxi Province on August 9. The rocket was launched at 06:53 Beijing time (1:35 Kiev time).
The HJ-2 06 satellite is the sixth in this series of Earth remote sensing devices whose mission is to monitor natural disaster risks such as floods, typhoons and landslides and to provide data for emergency management and control. the state of the ecological environment, natural resources, water economy and agriculture and other industries.
The device has the same configuration as the previous satellite HJ-2 05, currently in orbit, and is equipped with two imaging units with a spatial resolution of 5 meters and 25 meters.
This mission was the 482nd flight of the Long March launch vehicles.
