Microsoft is back at it again with Spam and following the pattern of what it did with Windows 11, it will introduce Windows 10 Start Menu Adsthis time with a very specific purpose: to get you to see the benefits of signing in with a Microsoft account.

Both sound familiar, right? About inserting ads into the operating system and beating with a Microsoft account. This is because in Windows 11 it has reached almost insurmountable limits, where installing the system and using it without going through this very hoop is increasingly complicated, if not impossible for ordinary users.

Well, insistence has now been carried over to Windows 10, though luckily for users of this it will remain an insistence, not an imposition:. As gathered by gHacks, the advertising that is coming will be converted into informative drop-down menus in the style of what was already seen in Windows 11, ads that appear when you open the Start menu to use the guides to set out on the side of good.

On the Windows blog, they explain that “this update expands the implementation of Microsoft account notifications in the Start menu. A Microsoft account is what connects Windows to your Microsoft applications. The account backs up all your data and helps you manage your subscription. You can also add additional security steps to avoid locking your account. This feature gives you quick access to important account notifications.”

Of course, ignoring the “warnings” will have no consequences and can even be disabled if they bother you more than necessary… and never better said! They’ll start appearing next month as part of an update that arrives then, so make a note of how to get rid of them if you don’t even want to see them. Here you are:

The option you need to cancel is located in «Settings > Personalization > Start > Show suggestions on Start occasionally«.

For the record, on a personal note, I think using a Microsoft account with Windows, regardless of version, is overall a good thing. It’s worth it, even for safety. And if you’re concerned about privacy… In that case, maybe your decision would be not to use Windows. Another thing is that its use will disappear, as happened with Windows 11. This means that Windows is not an exception in this: Apple or Google do not make it easy to use macOS or ChromeOS without their own.

In addition, if you are interested in buying Windows or Office license for the best price you can get them here from 12 euros.
