Kingston is modernizing its IronKey Keypad 200 with a USB Type-C connector. The safe USB stick would also achieve a slightly higher performance.

Kingston equips its IronKey Keypad 200 with a USB Type-C connector. The IronKey Keypad 200C is installed in this configuration. According to Kingston, the new interface also increases the performance of the stick with faster read and write speeds of up to 280 Mbit/s and 200 Mbit/s respectively.

Physically and digitally secure

The USB stick is used to securely store highly sensitive data without the need for additional software. The data is encrypted according to the XTS-AES 256-bit standard on the drive itself. You can lock and unlock it with a PIN code that you enter directly on the stick itself. Kingston also protects the drive from physical tampering by coating the hardware with epoxy. The result is a slightly large USB stick that can expect FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification.

The drive is available in capacities from 8GB to 256GB. The performance of the lower capacity models is slightly lower. Because encryption is performed on the USB stick itself and it has an interface with a keyboard and LED lights, no additional software is required with the IronKey Keypad 200C. It works independently of an operating system and fits in a Mac, a Windows computer, a Linux system, a smartphone, a TV or whatever.
