AYN Technologies has revealed both the release date and a host of specs for the Odin 2 gaming handheld. Tuned to follow in the footsteps of Snapdragon 845 powered Odin, this new device showcases a significant upgrade with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

Odin 2 doesn’t cut corners in memory and storage either, as it combines LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. As for the display, Odin 2 offers a 6-inch IPS display with a crisp 1080p resolution that provides vivid images for an immersive gaming experience. The device is also equipped with Micro HDMI and USB 3.1 Type-C ports, making it easy to connect external displays and accessories.

In terms of design, Odin 2 strikes a balance between portability and functionality with its dimensions of 225x98x17mm and weight of 420g. The active cooling solution ensures that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Adreno 740 GPU work efficiently without overheating.

Perhaps the most attractive aspect is the pricing strategy. Odin 2 will be available for a competitive price of $299 and will eventually cost $339 (after the early-order period ends). Available in black, this base model includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

For those looking for more RAM and storage, there are two alternatives: Odin 2 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, $369 early payment and $439. GB storage is available for $449 early registration and $499 retail price. The brand has scheduled Odin 2 to launch on Indiegogo on August 22 at 12:00 UTC.
