A study by global analytics platform Teads indicates that Brazilians are interested in the existence of offers that offer money back (cashback) when changing mobile phones. The study was conducted in 17 countries, including Brazil, and found that users, in general, do not remain loyal to smartphone brands, the main thing is to find a device that meets the needs of the user.

The results obtained among Brazilian users show that the most important is availability of cashback (67%)the second is lowest price (15%)then options for exchanging the current model for a newer one (12%)followed by releases (11%) and hardware innovations (10%).

Although the Brazilian market is notable for its heterogeneity due to different interests and absurd prices for some brands, the study shows that names such as Apple and Samsung are not determining factors at the time of purchase for Brazilians, while such factors as durability and benefits become most relevant. According to Paulo Itabaiana, Managing Director of Teads in Brazil, Brazilians are looking at cost-effectiveness when switching smartphones.

In addition, the study also indicates that 68% of Brazilians would pay more to invest in an environmentally friendly smartphone. Already 71% of respondents said they expect companies to become:socially responsible and environmentally correct“.

Despite the results, it is clear that there is a subset of users who prefer to stay true to a smartphone brand, be it Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi, and favor a particular company’s products when switching cell phones.
