Sony Imaging has taken the photography world by storm with its latest announcement: A brand new camera is scheduled to be unveiled on August 29 at 10 pm. While Sony remains tight-lipped about specific models, sources paint a vivid picture of what enthusiasts can expect.

Sony Alpha 7C II and Sony Alpha 7C R cameras expected

Among the potential offerings, two models stand out: Sony Alpha 7C II and Sony Alpha 7C R. Considered the successor to the popular Alpha 7C, the Alpha 7C II has potential improvements that will get photographers excited. This includes an impressive 33MP full-frame sensor, as well as 4K 60P video capabilities. The camera is also expected to feature sharper autofocus, a single SD card slot and a micro-HDMI port; all in the compact design that made the previous model a favourite.

At the same time, the Sony Alpha 7C R is speculated to be a hefty model offering a 61-megapixel full-frame sensor. It is ready to support 4K 60P video recording as well as high resolution. Making the deal even better, the camera can feature revolutionary artificial intelligence integration that promises smarter shots and an enriched photography experience. Basic features such as a single SD card slot, micro HDMI and enhanced display are also available.

Lens enthusiasts are also in for a surprise. A potential addition to the Sony lineup could be the 16-35mm f/2.8GM II lens, which will expand the creative possibilities of photographers. As for the price, previous sources mention a price of around 2,300 euros ($2,485) for the Sony Alpha 7C II and the lens in question.
