So far, the growing wave of “China” in the domestic car market only leads to a change in economic realities in Russia. But besides, if more and more cars from the Middle Kingdom will appear every year, perestroika will inevitably begin in the minds of everyone associated with cars. To begin with, we recall that in the first half of 2023 alone, Chinese customs exported about 405,000 cars to Russia. This, of course, is a record of all times and nations. But it’s different.
Experts expect that we will sell a total of 900,000 to 1.1 million passenger cars this year. If Chinese exports do not slow down (and nothing seriously predicts this event), then by the end of the year a total of about 800,000 “Chinese” may come to us! In other words, they will get about 75-95% of the Russian car market. The remaining crumbs are pecked by AVTOVAZ. Cars of European, Japanese and Korean brands, which were previously imported under the “grey” schemes, will be outnumbered due to a sharp increase in salvage costs. In the coming year and beyond, the trend will apparently not change and will even intensify.
Imagine what will happen in just a few years of such a life. For example, the new premium “Germans” will become a rare exotic. And before, all sorts of “majors”, respected people and semi-criminal elements “showed off” with them.
