Microsoft will add a homepage bundling the most useful and commonly used settings, complemented by some advertising for their own products.

Microsoft has released a new beta update, build 22631.2262, via Insiders Channel. The most striking new feature is a home page for the settings menu. So that you don’t always have to scroll through the menu, some quick settings are bundled there. There is room for seven cards in total.

Under the Recommended settings The settings that you tinker with most often will appear. This may include, for example, the display, sound and privacy settings, but these are adjusted according to your usage behavior. In addition, we also see cards for personalization, account recovery, Bluetooth devices and at the top right you can also see if your PC is up to date with all updates.

Microsoft wouldn’t be Microsoft if it didn’t use Settings to put its own products in the spotlight. This is also a way to see how much storage space you have left and view your Microsoft 365 subscription. We are now used to a little advertising in Windows.

It also looks like Microsoft is planning to launch a brand new built-in backup app for Windows 11. With this app you can create a backup of your old PC when you buy a new PC. This makes it easier for you to transfer your settings to the new device. For apps you’ve pinned to the Start menu, the app creates a link so you can quickly reinstall them from the Microsoft Store when you need them.
