The Hubble Space Telescope photographed OH 339.88-1.26, the “cosmic maser” in the constellation Sacrifice.

This was reported by the ESA observatory, according to Ukrinform’s report.

OH 339.88-1.26 is 8,900 light-years from Earth.

Maser is the microwave equivalent of a laser that produces coherent light (laser radiation) at microwave wavelengths.

Such objects can occur naturally in astrophysical environments, ranging from Jupiter’s north pole to the star forming regions shown in this image.

It is stated that the photo was taken thanks to the Wide Field Camera 3 in the Hubble telescope.

Altar or Altar is a constellation in the southern hemisphere of the sky, between the constellation Scorpio and the Southern Triangle. The constellation was known to the ancient Greeks and is listed among the 48 constellations in Ptolemy’s Almagest catalog under the name Censer.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Hubble Space Telescope photographed the galaxy ESO 300-16 in the constellation Eridanus.
