Survey results are presented by experts at JD Power with the so-called Satisfaction Index (SSI), the maximum value of which is 1000 points. More than 25,000 people from different regions of China who bought a new car in the past six months participated in the survey. People evaluated the process of car selection, test drive, purchase and delivery. But the most important thing is how the car met their expectations in terms of performance, safety and other features.
In the absolute ranking, the most cherished points were scored by imported ‘premiums’: Porsche (772 SSI), Audi (771 SSI) and BMW (769 SSI) are the most satisfied. At the same time, JD Power argues that the Chinese are more willing to buy hybrids and electric cars than traditional cars.
Purely Chinese brands also failed to occupy a pedestal in the mass segment. The top five was closely filled by joint venture products from GAC Honda (763 SSI), SAIC Buick (762 SSI), Dongfeng Honda (762 SSI), GAC Toyota (762 SSI), FAW Toyota (757 SSI), Dongfeng Nissan ( 756 SSI), FAW Volkswagen (756 SSI) and SAIC Volkswagen (755 SSI). In other words: there are no 100% ‘natives’ here either.
In terms of purely Chinese brands, Changan and GAC Trumpchi shared first place with a score of 750 SSI each. Second place went to Geely (749 SSI), who in turn took over Chery (748 SSI), leaving him in third place. The fourth with the same indicator of 747 SSI were the Hongqi, Jetta and Tank brands. And only the fifth position was conquered by Haval (745 SSI). Among the outsiders in terms of customer satisfaction, the agency notes the Jetour brand, which pleases Chinese customers with only 715 SSI.
