Belgian security specialist Secutec plans to become a major European player. This ambition comes after a strategy focused on in-house solutions paid off.
Belgian security integrator Secutec is aiming for the European playing field. The company announced this on the sidelines of the announcement of its quarterly results. They’re looking rosy, which should show the company’s current strategy is working. After all, the company from Aartselaar currently relies heavily on its own solutions for threat intelligence, DNS security and SOC, among other things, which it is happy to combine with existing third-party security products. The aim is to offer comprehensive protection without forcing the customer into a straitjacket.
Own services as the key to the EU
Initially, Secutec was mainly an integrator and the focus on own services and solutions is relatively new. According to the company, this approach is paying off: In the first two months of this fiscal year, demand rose by 43 percent. Compared to the previous year, sales increased from 18 million euros to 25 million euros. Secutec sees itself as sufficiently unique and able to make a difference on the European playing field.
The aim is to grow organically and buy into the market of security players. Investors are welcome with a view to an acquisition strategy. “We believe in our own services,” says CEO Geert Baudewijns. “In order to also use these outside of Belgium, we are looking for a strategic partner who will support us in the further expansion of Secutec.” Germany, Austria and Italy are at the top of the list of priorities.
We know Secutec primarily as a local player. In 2022, the company warned of the impact of the major Microsoft Exchange leak on Belgian businesses.
