Software company Salesforce unveiled new features for Net Zero Cloud during the Dreamforce 2023 event. The AI-driven innovations help companies simplify their ESG (environmental, social, governance) reporting in a rapidly changing regulatory landscape.
From 2024, around 50,000 companies, including many large multinational corporations, will have to comply with the so-called Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This regulatory framework also requires insight into climate-related financial risks and social impacts. Salesforce has introduced two new features for Net Zero Cloud: CSRD Report Builder and Materiality Assessment. The first automates CSR reporting, while the second helps companies determine what matters for business and social impact.
Einstein on board
“Meaningful business transparency benefits us all, but companies can still get lost in the complex regulatory landscape,” said Ari Alexander, VP and GM of Net Zero Cloud at Salesforce. “Equipped with Einstein (AI Capabilities Coming 2024, Ed.), Net Zero Cloud will simplify the ESG data reporting process and provide a valuable solution that any company can use to achieve net zero.”
What exactly does Einstein do? The application uses AI to suggest reliable, automatically generated answers for ESG reports. These are based on specific reporting criteria. The CSRD Report Builder automates reporting for specific requirements. Additionally, materiality assessment allows managers to identify topics that are most relevant to their organization. You can easily collect critical input and visualize results using a customizable questionnaire.
Rossignol
French sports brand Rossignol, known for its ski skis and snowboards, uses Net Zero Cloud to track its carbon footprint. The company joined the 1t.org initiative to conserve, restore and grow one trillion trees by 2030. Rossignol will support the initiative with 100,000 trees. “We are proud to implement Net Zero Cloud to track our carbon footprint,” said Vincent Wauters, Chairman of Rossignol Group.
Einstein for Net Zero Cloud is expected to be available in spring 2024. The two new features, CSRD Report Builder and Materiality Assessment, may be available worldwide starting next month.
