British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced plans to introduce a ban by the end of the year dog breed American Bully XL, after several attacks by the animal were recorded in the UK.

Sunak explained in a video on X (formerly Twitter) that he had ordered his ministers to work with the relevant authorities first “determine the characteristics of the breedwhich is currently not legally described in this country, and will eventually ban it.

“America’s Bully XL is a danger to our communities, especially children,” the Conservative leader said in the recording.

“It is clear that this is not a handful of poorly trained dogs, but rather a pattern of behavior that cannot continue,” he says, referring to several high-profile attacks in recent days.

“These dogs are dangerous and I want to reassure citizens that we will take all necessary measures to keep them safe,” Sunak added.

Once experts agree on how to identify this dog breed, The government will propose to ban them by amending the current law on dangerous dogs.said the Prime Minister.
