Need a new screen for your hybrid meeting room? You can tilt the Microsoft Surface Hub 3 horizontally or vertically to use portrait mode.

At last night’s Surface event, Microsoft announced the Surface Hub 3, the next generation of displays for hybrid meeting and conference rooms. The Microsoft Surface Hub 3 is available in two sizes: 50 inches and 85 inches. The “smallest” screen has a nice extra.

Upside down

You can tilt the screen vertically and turn it upside down during a meeting. This allows you to mimic Windows 11’s Portrait Mode to better visualize people or content. The software instantly adjusts to optimize content in vertical mode.

Both screens support 4K image quality. You can operate the screen with two pens at the same time using the twenty multi-touch touch points. Microsoft states that the new generation has up to sixty percent more computing power and a graphics boost of one hundred and sixty percent. Microsoft Teams Rooms for Windows is pre-installed on the screen and Copilot is also being rolled out on the Surface Hub 3.

Microsoft hasn’t announced the price or availability for the Surface Hub 3 yet, but we recommend you start saving now. The predecessor Surface Hub 2S cost 9,000 euros in the 50-inch version and even 23,000 euros in the 85-inch version. We fear that the new generation will not be cheaper. With a special cartridge you can “upgrade” your Surface Hub S2 to a Surface Hub 3. So if you already made the purchase in 2019, you don’t need to buy a new screen.

Surface for on the go

There was also a lot to experience yesterday for fans of Surface laptops. We’ve already written about the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and the Surface Laptop Go 3, but there was also a Surface Go 4 for business use. This model offers a little more stability outside and inside, battery (12.5 hours) and integrated security.

Microsoft appears to have launched this device primarily to promote its new Windows 365 Frontline licenses. Prices are not yet known.
