The Samsung T9 portable SSD has been listed on the manufacturer’s website as well as French, Australian and American retailers. We expect performance improvements, several versions depending on the capacity and – based on information from the sellers – a fairly reasonable price.
The Samsung T7 (especially in its tougher ‘Shield’ variant) is one of the best external storage solution based on NAND flash memory. Although hard drives completely dominate the internal storage of client computers, they are increasingly used in external solutions, where they also show their great advantages.

If the Samsung T7 doubled the performance of the T5 version, the Samsung T9 is expected to do the same with it, with read mode data transfers of up to 2000 MB per secondthanks to the use of NVMe and USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps interfaces.
We have no information about other specifications, although there is talk of Intel port support lightning, with which the level of connectivity would undoubtedly rise. We also do not exclude that Samsung will release USB4, the latest approved standard for the most popular port for connecting peripherals and devices in the technology industry, compatible with previous USB standards and with a bandwidth of up to 40 Gb/s.
It is certain that Samsung will maintain the compact size of this series, much like a credit cardenhanced security with hardware encryption to keep consumer data safe even in the event of a drive loss, and possibly IP65 dust, water and drop certified variants.
Sellers listed two versions with 1 and 2 bytes storage capacities, although there will be more, such as 4 TB. The most interesting are the prices set by the French supplier Grosbill with the version 2 TB for a price of 199 euros. Cheaper than the T7 at launch.

It is speculated that Samsung will launch this T9 before November’s Black Friday campaigns. Although there are other alternatives, such as the excellent SanDisk Extreme SSD, there is no doubt that this T9 is very interesting.
