The collaboration between Colt and Eurofiber will add new Colt metropolitan networks in Bordeaux, Lille and Toulouse and further expand the existing network in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Colt Technology Services (Colt) and Eurofiber today announced a new strategic partnership to expand Colt’s global on-site reach through Eurofiber’s infrastructure, based on an innovative hybrid on-net solution. The partnership also leverages commercial and operational collaboration.

Colt’s Hybrid On Net solution allows business customers to enjoy the benefits of their own (dedicated) fiber connection, without the cost and complexity of installing infrastructure. This solution allows Colt to extend its fiber optic network via passive dark fiber from carefully selected providers in major cities. The Eurofiber network allows companies to access network services in different locations.

The new partnership is the next step in formalizing and expanding the existing relationship between Colt and Eurofiber, which began in 2010.

Increasing demand for bandwidth

Global demand for bandwidth continues to increase, and more and more companies are relying on cloud-hosted infrastructure. As a result, companies are increasingly looking for a range of connectivity solutions to access their data and applications.
