As Izvestia reports, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who oversees the construction sector, told President Vladimir Putin about the upcoming record in repaired roads. “This year we will certainly have fully repaired more than 180 million square meters of roads. This is just a gigantic volume, which we have never done before in the entire history of our country. This is the best result in the entire history of the country,” he noted during a video conference with the head of state.
In August, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the government would allocate 15 billion rubles for this purpose. He emphasized that the repair and reconstruction of roads will make traffic safer and more comfortable for both motorists and pedestrians, and also improve freight logistics for consumers and business representatives. This year, in Russian regions, more than 6,200 objects of the regional and local road network with a total length of 19,000 kilometers will be brought to standard status.
