Sales of branded desktop computers have been in sharp decline for the past decade. Users and professionals have opted for the greater versatility and mobility of laptops and convertibles, while large towers are maintained by users themselves by purchasing and upgrading components.
This is why OEM desktop offerings are quite limited compared to existing laptop offerings. But there is an offer, some as interesting as the one at hand. The design was already familiar, with a reduction in external dimensions compared to the R15, which is now reduced by up to -40% overall with an internal volume of about 25 liters.
Air flow has been optimized to reduce the temperature of the CPU and GPU as well as the noise emitted. Customers can choose between air or liquid cooling. All feature customizable Alienware lighting.
Other new features come from its hardware base, with an emphasis on Intel 14Gen processors with the option of installing the Core i7-14700KF or the top-of-the-line Core i9-14900KF. The same in the graphics section with the GeForce 40 series, from the RTX 4070 up to RTX 4090 with 24 GB of GDDR6X memory.
The top configuration includes 64 GB of DDR5 XMP memory and several PCIe 5 and 4.0 SSDs with a capacity of 4 TB. Like everything else, RAM and storage are user upgradeable. The cheapest versions start at $1,300, while access to the new Intel processors and RTX 40 graphics will cost minimum $2,200. It will be available on the Dell website.
