From the beginning of the large-scale war to August 2023, the consumption of Microsoft Azure cloud services in Ukraine increased almost 7 times.
Ukrinform was informed about this by the press service of the national telecom operator “Kyivstar”, which is the official partner of Microsoft in Ukraine.
According to statistics of the Kyivstar company, the main growth peaks occurred in March-April 2022, when active hostilities began. And also – for October-March 2023, when Ukrainians and Ukrainian businesses suffered disruptions due to enemy shelling.
The company emphasized that cloud services have become one of the most effective tools for business, which helped Ukrainian companies successfully weather the beginning of a full-scale war and, in particular, the period from October 2022 to March 2023. These are solutions that enable organization. In addition to employees working remotely, the security of work is ensured by transferring data and critical IT infrastructure to the virtual environment.
“During the year, that is, from August 2022 to August 2023, the number of requests to Kyivstar to connect to the Microsoft Office 365 cloud product increased almost threefold,” the company said.
This is a complete suite of tools for office work that allows you to deploy a remote workplace for employees in the shortest possible time, providing access to work programs and documents from any device only if there is Internet access. Microsoft Office 365, in particular, is offered to Kyivstar’s Ukrainian corporate customers not only as a separate service, but also as an additional bonus for some corporate mobile tariffs.
“The Ukrainian business community has shown remarkable resilience since the beginning of the large-scale war, especially during power outages. In particular, the presence of innovative technological solutions provided by Kyivstar contributed to this, – Kostiantyn Vechir, director of business development in Kyivstar’s corporate market, comments on such data “We believe that the use of cloud technologies has become one of the most important solutions that help businesses successfully prepare for winter and secure operation in unpredictable conditions.”
Moreover, cloud products not only secured the business of enterprises in Ukraine, but also opened new development opportunities even in such a difficult situation. Ultimately, the architecture of such solutions allows them to be easily scaled and supported by new technological solutions such as big data analytics, adds the Kyivstar representative.
Kyivstar is Ukraine’s leading electronic communications operator, serving 24.1 million mobile subscribers and more than 1.1 million “Home Internet” subscribers as of June 2023. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the company has allocated more than 1.4 billion UAH in aid to the state, army, society and subscribers.
