On Saturday, October 21, the American company SpaceX launched 21 more Starlink Internet satellites into space.
This was reported on the company’s social media page HAccording to Ukrinform.
The Falcon-9 rocket carrying 21 satellites took off from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Saturday. Next is the first stage of Falcon 9 come back Earth by landing the drone ship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean.
The satellites are expected to be placed into orbit in approximately 45 minutes.
This is the 16th flight of the first stage launch vehicle supporting this mission, having previously launched Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI. EROS C-3 and six Starlink missions.
Today’s launch will be SpaceX’s 75th orbital mission in 2023. The company planned to make 100 flights in total this year and 144 flights in 2024.
About 60% of the company’s flights this year are devoted to the development of Starlink, SpaceX’s internet megaconstellation. It currently consists of approximately 4,900 operational satellites.
As Ukrinform reported, on October 18, SpaceX launched 22 Starlink internet satellites into orbit.
