Scary Fast, Apple presentation on October 30, Apple M3?

Amazingly in less than a week, Apple has just announced that it will be holding an event in October called Scary Fast, more specifically the 30th, and which is a surprise, both because of the short notice with which it was announced and because it doesn’t seem to match the more immediate announcement we’ve come to expect from the folks at Cupertino. Although of course it is very possible that what we expected will be announced on this second point.

But let’s go in parts. The first thing is the Scary Fast date and time. As I already hinted, the presentation will take place (although it may be more accurate to say it will be broadcast, as it will probably be pre-recorded) next Monday, October 30. However, there is a difference from the company’s regular keynote, which is that it will be held much later than we are used to, at 5:00 PM PT (Pacific Time), ie. at one o’clock in the morning on Tuesday the 31st Peninsular Time (midnight in the Canary Islands). This change makes it more difficult (in terms of time) to watch him in Europe, even if it adjusts to the blow to countries like Japan and South Korea that may have influenced the choice.

On the other hand, and as we said a few days ago, there are many signs that point to the renewal of the iPad, so much so that some media, according to their sources and as we reported, even pointed out that the said announcement was going to be made last week. In the end, it didn’t, as the only news Apple announced was a new, cheaper version of the Apple Pencil, a revision of the brand’s stylus that has a very direct connection to the iPad indeed. All the more reason to wait for the restoration of tablets.

So it would make sense to think that the iPad will be the main protagonist at the presentation on October 30th (31st in Spain), right? Well, it doesn’t seem like it, and if we look at the video shown on the official page of the event, we can see how the brand logo, the iconic apple, transforms into the macOS logo, which tells us that the protagonists of the Apple event will be computers. It is now possible that this will be a shared event focusing on the new Macs, but the new iPads will also be represented. And as for the title, some American media outlets have received physical invitations to it, which explain that the title of the keynote is Scary Fast.

Scary Fast, Apple presentation on October 30, Apple M3?

Remember just yesterday when we talked about Apple’s AI plans based on information from Mark Gurman? Well, in the exact same publication The analyst reiterated iMac and MacBook Pro inventory shortages in the company’s stores and pointed to a launch later this month, so today’s announcement is confirmation that sales outlets are already preparing for the new device.

There isn’t much consensus among analysts as to whether Cupertino will bring Scary Fast gear with this update, also the new Apple M3. The analyst says this about it:

“RI recently reported that while the next-generation MacBook Air models with M3 chips won’t launch until 2024, the company has moved forward with new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. You’ll recall that Apple just launched the MacBook Pros in January, so an additional update in the same year would be unusual, but not unthinkable.»

Now yes, There is a sign that makes us think it will finally happen, and the name Apple chose for this keynote is Scary Fast, which can be translated as scary fast. We can understand the scary thing as a double entendre, because on the one hand it is impossible not to relate it to Halloween, the upcoming holiday in the US, and on the other hand it reinforces the fast thing that aims to be one of the strengths of the new members of the Apple Silicon family.

The truth is, over the past few months we’ve had news of a new iMac with M3 and a Mac mini with M3, in addition to the MacBook Air with M3, which Gurman hints will launch in 2024. Signs, many signs, and when the river sounds …
