Texas sued to the government of US President Joe Bidenfor allowing the border patrol I’ll cut the barbed wire placed by this State in its border with Mexico on preventing illegal migration.
State’s Attorney Ken Paxton said Border Patrol agents cut the wire “regularly” and sometimes “immediately” after Texas workers have laid new wire to close existing gaps.
He said that by cutting the razor wire, “the federal government not only illegally destroyed Texas property, but also undermined Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to stop illegal immigration.”
Paxton argued that Texas “has the sovereign right to construct border barriers to prevent the entry of illegal aliens.”

The lawsuit was filed against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its head, Alejandro Mayorkas, as well as the Border Patrol and several other agencies and officials who, according to prosecutors, aided and abetted illegal border crossings.
In the complaint, Paxton asked the Federal Court for the Western District of Texas to enjoin federal authorities from “continuing to destroy and damage private property.”
Barbed wire along the Rio Grande River in Mexico has been criticized by human rights activists who warn it puts migrants at risk.
