The new version of Vivaldi has finally arrived and no, we were not wrong: Vivaldi 6.3 should be Vivaldi 6.4and this launch is little more than a process to unify the development and release cycle of all web browser editions.
Therefore, it is worth recalling that last month the launch of the long-awaited Vivaldi for iOS was announced, including iPhone and iPad and many, but not all, features of the Android app. On the other hand, we are now concerned with the PC edition (Linux, Mac, Windows), the driving force of Vivaldi Technologies and traditionally the framework on which we will deploy most of the innovations that this project provides.
However, unlike what we are used to, Vivaldi 6.4 is a restrained release if ever there was one, a version with few notable new features and not even for all audiences. Of course, Vivaldi 6.4 brings a lot of fixes, optimizations and security patches, some of its own, others shared with its Chromium base, just like the rest of its derivatives.
As for these two notable news, the first one is the improvement of the PiP mode, read Picture in Picture or in simpler terms, floating video mode As it has become popular recently. In Vivaldi 6.4, floating videos get new controls, either by clicking the mouse to control the volume, or by using quick commands, keyboard shortcuts, or through the context menu of tabs to mute them.

On the other hand, if you are a die-hard Vivaldi user and, in addition to being a browser, you use it as a productivity suite thanks to its email client, calendar and other integrated tools, the calendar in particular adds a new feature that you will appreciate if you are into creating of events common in interval but different in matter: the templates.
For example, “you can create templates for a birthday that recurs once a year, a 30-minute appointment, or a doctor’s appointment reminder. Create a template from scratch or reuse one you already have,” the Vivaldi developers explain. The editing templates can be found in “Settings > Calendar” and the truth is that it is quite intuitive.
And there is no more. If you wanted Vivaldi for iOS, you already have it, and as for Vivaldi for PC, version 6.4 brings it. So all that remains is to update the mobile application for Android and iOS, whether it does something unexpected, although in principle it is nothing that can be expected, sorry for the redundancy.
