What will Apple present at Scary Fast?

Scary Fast is just over 24 hours away (in Spain it was translated as “Savage”), an event that Apple surprisingly announced earlier this week (it’s usual for them to announce their presentations at least a few weeks in advance). The truth is that there were already some hints that Apple had some sort of launch planned for this month of October. Strangely, however, the ecosystem of leaks trying to inform us of Cupertino’s plans has pointed in the wrong direction on this occasion (with some exceptions).

So at the beginning of last week, many signs lit up pointing to an imminent iPad refresh, so we’ve remained very attentive to Apple’s moves since then, as everything was headed for a start, let’s say quieti.e. that new models would be added to the website, a note would be published in the Apple press area and that’s it, i.e. that there would be no presentation of news (which, on the contrary, would lead to the assumption that there would be little news).

In the end, there were no new iPads and instead, Apple announced Scary Fast for tomorrow, Monday 30. The event, which, as we already told you, will be focused on computers, as can be deduced from the fact that the animation shown on the official page of the event shows a version of the company logo that will become the logo of macOS , the company’s operating system for its computers . So unless Apple decides to bring macOS to the iPad, which seems less likely than building a bridge between Valencia and Mallorca, we’ll be talking about computers tomorrow.

What will Apple present at Scary Fast?

Actually, saying tomorrow isn’t entirely accurate, because Apple decided (another special element of this event) for an afternoon presentation because Scary Fast will take place at 17:00 local time (PT) on Monday the 30th, which will be one in the morning on Tuesday the 31st in all Spanish territory except the Canary Islands.. Hopefully one day we will learn the reasons for both the rush to announce the event and the unusual time of the event.

What seems to be quite clear is that Scary Fast will be about computers and that, as we can already infer from the name, speed will be a key theme in the presentation (Scary is undoubtedly a play on words, because the name of the event can be translated as frighteningly fast or frighteningly fast, and also connect Scary with the upcoming celebration of Halloween). And what’s the terrifyingly fast thing the Cupertinos are going to show us? All roads seem to lead to another evolutionary leap for Apple Silicon.

  • Apple M3: Everything really points to the fact that at the epicenter of Scary Fast will be a generational change of Apple Silicon, some ichips that, as we told you a few months ago, aim to integrate a greater number of cores into their CPU and support a larger memory of numbers (unified, don’t forget, that in this architecture the memory is shared). And while all predictions are pointing in that direction, there are contradictions between whether the presentation will be exclusive to the base version, or whether the Pro and/or Ultra versions will also be announced.
  • iMac M3: It’s been two and a half years since Apple introduced the iMac with Apple Silicon, which never made the leap to the Apple M2. So we are talking about a long-term restoration that is scheduled to take place tomorrow. But leaks suggest that, as with the current generation, there will only be versions with the M3, at least for now, and not its Pro and Ultra variants.
  • MacBook Pro M3: I admit that this point surprises me the most, but many voices agree that tomorrow we will also see new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with the new M3 Pro and M3 Max. I’m surprised though, because we’re talking about one of the product lines that was last updated, since these models with M2 chips were introduced at the beginning of the year.
