Users of Huawei and Honor smartphones began to complain about the strange behavior of their devices to the Google support service, in forums and social networks. Judging by the messages confirmed by the screenshots, smartphones from these manufacturers began to flag the Google program as malware.
The phones report that “the app has been infected with a virus called TrojanSMS-PA.” The note states that the app may put sensitive information on the device at risk by sending SMS messages without the user’s permission. At the end of the warning it says: “We recommend that you remove it immediately.”
Other antivirus programs such as Norton and Sophos do not identify the Google program as malicious. At the time of writing this article, Huawei did not respond to this situation. It’s most likely a simple software bug.
As many people know, Google applications cannot be officially used on Huawei smartphones due to US sanctions. But there are many workarounds to running Google services and apps.
