On Friday, space company SpaceX broke its own record for reusing rockets. A Falcon 9 rocket launched 23 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit from the launch pad of the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The launch took place on November 3, 2023 at 20:37 EST. This was the unprecedented 18th launch of the Falcon 9 first stage, according to the mission description on SpaceX’s website.
The launch was successful, and the company reported that 23 Starlink satellites have already been placed into orbit.
Meanwhile, the launch vehicle’s first stage successfully landed on an autonomous floating platform called A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean, several hundred kilometers off the coast of Florida.
