In London, television footage showed large crowds holding sit-ins and blocking parts of the city center before moving towards Trafalgar Square.
People carried banners with the slogan “Free Palestine” and chanted “ceasefire now” and “thousands, millions, we are all Palestinians.”
Thousands of protesters marched through the streets of Washington waving Palestinian flags, some chanting “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide, you signed genocide” before gathering in Freedom Square, just steps from the White House.
Speakers condemned President Joe Biden’s support for Israel, saying “you have blood on your hands.”
