American company Samson Sky announced the first test flight of the Switchblade flying car.

This was reported by New Atlas, according to Ukrinform.

The Switchblade climbed to a height of 150 m at Grant Country International Airport in Washington state, circled and touched down six minutes later.

The two-seater vehicle can reach a speed of over 200 km/h on the road in flight mode and up to 322 km/h at an altitude of up to 400 m.

“After 14 years of development and extensive testing, the first flight was a significant milestone. This puts us on track to produce thousands of Switchblades to meet demand,” said Samson Sky CEO and Switchblade designer Sam Bousfield.

Samson Sky reported approximately 2,300 Switchblade reservations from 57 different countries. The approximate starting price of the car is 170 thousand dollars.

As reported by Ukrinform, London-based Lyte Aviation has presented its SkyBus “airbus” design with vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL).
