Baldur’s Gate 3 was the big winner at the 41st Golden Joystick Awards, which recognize the best video games of the year. The most awarded game of the gala evening, winning in seven categories, including the main one, best game of the year on any platform.

The Golden Joystick Awards are also known as the ‘People’s Gaming Awards’. And therein lies its importance, because winners are chosen by public vote. And it was not predictable in a fantasy RPG, highly adapted to the rules of the board game on which it is based, which is not easy to start, nor fast to play, and which also uses turn-based combat, ie. The difficulty that Larian Studios solved with flying colors won Best Studio of the Year, Script, Visual Design, Community, Supporting Actor and the two most important: PC Game of the Year and Best Game of the Year overall.
