Although there are still a few months to go, we finally know that WWDC 2022, a developer’s event that Apple hosts every year, and which on many occasions also usually brings a special interesting announcement, will take place from Monday the 6th to Friday the 10th of June. And although we could already assume that, the technology company has confirmed that this year it will repeat exclusively the online format, which we have seen in previous years. And with a few exceptions, many companies seem to think it’s too early to resume personal events.

WWDC 2022 is, as I mentioned, a conference where those from Cupertino provide information, sessions and workshops. developers specializing in Apple products, so in the absence of confirmation of the official program of the event, we can take for granted many specialized sessions, focused on various details. In other words, we’re talking about a type of content that most don’t care about.

However, yes, we can expect an announcement that will be of great interest to WWDC 2022. I am thinking, of course, of other versions of macOS and iOS, which, as every year and except for unexpected surprises, will be officially introduced in June, showing what we can expect from them after the publication, a month later. And, of course, it makes perfect sense that these new versions are introduced at this meeting year after year, as developers are expected to be able to adapt their applications to these new features as close as possible to their launch.

That, at WWDC 2022 we will see the face of iOS 16 and macOS 13 for the first time, successor to Monterey. In the second case, we can expect to see more innovations focused exclusively on computers equipped with Apple SoC, to the detriment of what those who still use computers based on Intel processors will find. The differences in this regard with Monterey have been negligible, something something Apple must acknowledge, but it makes sense to expect that in the version introduced on this WWDC 2022, the gap will widen.

On the other hand, and although we have seen some failed predictions in recent months, we still expect 2022 to be a particularly fruitful year in terms of introducing revisions to existing products as well as new additions to Apple’s catalog. And as a result, it makes sense to expect WWDC 2022 be the framework chosen for the presentation of some of them.

Looking back, the most relevant announcement during WWDC in recent years undoubtedly took place in 2020, when the company confirmed numerous rumors about it from previous weeks and months by announcing that it was leaving Intel to make the leap to the Apple Silicon. Of course, we can’t expect another announcement of these dimensions on WWDC 2022, but What could take place is the announcement of the second generation of its SoC, the anticipated Apple M2to which more and more analysts point out that it would appear on the market sometime in the second half of this year.
