Instagram users around the world will now be able to download public Reels to their devices.

This was announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri during an online broadcast, Ukrinform reported. TechCrunch.

He said uploaded Reels will have an Instagram watermark that includes the account name, similar to TikTok videos.

Users can click the Share button to download videos and select the download option to save the video.

You can also prevent other users from downloading Reels. To do this, you need to go to the account settings in the “Privacy” and “Reels” section and then turn off the “Allow users to download your Reels” option.

If the video is accompanied by licensed music, its sound will be muted. If the sound in the video is original, the clip will have sound.

As reported in June, the company made Reels available for download for users in the US and is now rolling it out to users in other countries.

Instagram stopped recommending clips with TikTok (or any other) watermark in 2021. In August 2022, YouTube began implementing logo-based watermarking on uploaded Shorts.
