Chery has introduced a ban on gray exports of its models from China, including cars from the Exeed and Jetour sub-brands. This measure is primarily aimed at maintaining prices for cars officially delivered to Russia – “parallel” cars were sold at much lower prices.

According to the Chinese Cars portal, Exeed’s headquarters sent dealers an announcement of measures to strengthen its position in foreign markets, maintain prices and the brand’s premium status. It is for this purpose that the company is introducing a ban on the ‘unofficial’ export of cars outside China. Car dealers are prohibited from exporting new cars that are less than six months old abroad for demonstration or sale.

Cars are not even allowed to be sold to companies with an export license, and dealers are ordered to prevent the subsequent transfer of cars already sold abroad and ensure no violations occur. Large corporate customers will be subject to separate supervision.

A car dealer caught breaking the rules will be fined 100,000 yuan (1.25 million rubles) for each car. And if he is caught ignoring the order again, the dealer agreement with the company will be terminated.

According to information from Chinese Cars, Chery and Jetour have made similar announcements and Geely will soon implement the same ban.
