When building a PC from which we expect high performance, count on components such as PNY XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4 memory modules are a key element. And this is because today it is still possible to find systems with state-of-the-art processors and graphics cards of the latest generations, in which, however, standard power memories and / or storage media with limited speed have been chosen. This error causes bottlenecks for which other components will never work at maximum.

The fastest option at the moment is the one offered by DDR5 memory, but to use it you need to have a motherboard that supports it, because the DDR4 and DDR5 sockets are different. The fastest option, which in fact offers high performance, is therefore high-performance DDR4 memory, a segment in which there are new memories reported by PNY, these Overclocked XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4 RGB.

For the production of XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4, PNY has chosen a first-class supplier of memory chips such as Micron, Samsung and SK Hynix, a key choice to ensure that memory can run above its standard frequency without compromising reliability. And every overclocking fan knows that if you don’t use the right components, system reliability can be greatly reduced.

To confirm that its performance does not conflict with its reliability, XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4 memories come with XMP 2.0 profiles preconfigured so we can count on the extra performance that overclocking provides, but the warranty provided by the Intel eXtreme Performance Memory specification. In addition, thanks to them we will not have to complicate their configuration, because it is applied automatically.

Since we’re talking about high performance memory, the XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4 is based an geometric aluminum heatsink to improve thermal performance, something we know is the key to getting memory chips to their maximum performance without their temperature fooling us.

In terms of its performance, we find two versions, namely PC4-28800 at 3600 MHzwith CAS latency 18, a PC4-25600 at 3200 MHzwith CAS latency 16. In both cases we can find the following capacities: 8 gigabytes, 16 gigabytes (both in one module and in two of the eight) and 32 gigabytes with two modules of 16.

Since we are talking about a component focused on the gaming sector, and as its full name suggests, the XLR8 Gaming REV DDR4 RGB have customizable LED lighting that adapts them to the visual scheme we use in the system. For this purpose, it is compatible with Asus AURA SYNC, Gigabyte RGB FUSION 2.0, MSI Mystic Light Sync and ASRock Polychrome SYNC1. In addition, its faceted design provides a unique reflection of both the lighting itself and other components that also contain LEDs.
