Qnap launches a new version of Boxafe, its backup solution for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Boxafe allows you to create secure backups of data stored in the cloud.
Qnap announces in a press release the launch of Boxafe 2.0, a new version of the backup service for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Enterprises and managed service providers can use Boxafe 2.0 to protect SaaS data from unforeseen disasters that could cause irreparable harm to businesses. Qnap introduces a handful of new features and licensing formulas to Boxafe.
We provide an overview of the most important innovations in Boxafe 2.0:
Since Boxafe is also a SaaS offering, users have to choose between different formulas. There are some options for both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. A free version is available for up to thirty connected users. This also includes ten shared drives in the workspace or ten Sharepoint and five Teams domains for Microsoft.
The paid version allows you to connect up to a thousand users and create backups for an unlimited number of domains. Qnap offers a free trial period for thirty people. After this period, we asked Qnap for more information about subscription pricing.
There is actually a need for services like Boxafe that create a secure copy of your Google or Microsoft data. Sometimes people think that a cloud storage account is enough to protect their most important files. Although data has a higher chance of survival in the cloud, no solution is 100% secure.
A recent bug in Google Drive makes this clear: users lost months’ worth of files and were left helpless without a backup. To prepare for disasters, it is always necessary to back up critical data both locally and in the cloud.
