The company said the restoration of services may occur gradually. Experts hope all services will be restored by Wednesday.

The company’s customers will receive compensation

Kyivstar reported that after the network is stabilized, all subscribers and corporate customers who cannot use the company’s services as a result of the hacker attack will receive compensation.

“News about deadlines for compensation and network restoration will come only from the official pages of the company. We warn you not to share phone numbers and personal data with suspicious people, they may turn out to be scammers,” the company wrote.

Kyivstar’s IT infrastructure was partially destroyed

  • A large-scale hacker attack was carried out on the core of the Kyivstar network in the morning. The SBU assumed that Russian special services might be involved.
  • The company’s CEO, Oleksandr Komarov, said that cybercriminals probably want to arrange the maximum destruction of the operator’s IT infrastructure. According to Komarov, the attack was “very powerful” and the criminals managed to partially destroy the IT infrastructure. However, fortunately, there was no leakage of users’ personal data.
  • As a result of these events, the SBU opened a criminal case and immediately launched an investigation under Article 8 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
