The Lake Orion plant will lay off 945 workers, while the Lansing plant will lose 369 workers, the company said Thursday. Discounts at both businesses will begin on January 1, 2024.

The Lake Orion facility will produce the Chevy Bolt electric car by the end of this year. The report stated that General Motors has postponed its plans to produce electric pickup trucks until 2025, a year later than originally planned.

The company said that the Lansing plant produces the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 models, as well as the Chevrolet Camaro sports sedan, whose production will end next month.

As reported by Ukrinform, German auto parts supplier Bosch is planning large-scale layoffs in its power unit division. Specifically, the company is considering reducing development, management and sales positions in the division by up to 1,500.
