over the years ASUS is building ProArc, an ever-widening ecosystem, which responds to the specific needs of a specific user profile, such as a content creator, but which also adapts perfectly to other user profiles demanding performance and reliability. From notebooks like the exceptional ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED we tested just a few days ago, to graphics cards, monitors, desktops, chassis, cooling systems… the list goes on and on, a clear example of ASUS’ commitment to this segment market.

If you are familiar with this line of products, it is possible that you may have been surprised by the last two elements of the list I made in the previous section, but this is what is new, that technology has once again expanded the scope of the ASUS ProArt family adding the ProArt PA602 chassis and the ProArt LC 420 AiO cooler to its catalogtwo elements that will no doubt be extremely appreciated by those interested in building their own systems based on the reliability that this family of products provides.

A PC chassis is much more than just a case. The effectiveness of the ventilation elements, the possibility (and of course the ease) of assembly, the isolation it provides us from what is happening inside, but also its cleanliness and much more depend on its design. Recognizing the importance of these points and the specific needs of content creators, ASUS has designed a chassis that will undoubtedly appeal to this and many other user profiles.

Ventilation, as I mentioned before, plays a key role. So in this ProArt PA602 it starts with va open front grille with 15.5 millimeter ventilation slots and 45% porosity, after which we find two 200mm ProArt front fans. In fact, they are much larger than usual, allowing them to operate at lower rpm, delivering the same power as the smaller ones at higher speeds, providing a quieter experience.

We find the other extreme 140mm fan with a variable position according to our needs, which is responsible for the removal of hot air, and between them we find deflectors that always guide the ventilation flow in the right direction. And to make air just air, it contains ProArt PA602 removable dust filters on the front, top and bottom panels, as well as an exclusive system that automatically detects the amount of dust, microfibers and other particles have accumulated in the front filter. When a certain amount has accumulated, an LED on the side of the chassis lights up, indicating it’s time to clean the filters.

The internal layout of the chassis elements has been optimized to provide all the space necessary for the components of a high-performance PC, as well as to facilitate assembly, disassembly and maintenance. for this purpose Minimizes the need for tools thanks to side panels that release with just the press of a key, and also marks the debut of new technology that allows the installation of additional PCIe cards, including graphics cards, without the need for a screwdriver.

On the outside, in addition to the attractive design, with a glass side so that the view of the inside of the device is not lost, we find e.g. front well charged USB connectors (including a 20Gbps USB Type-C port), a physical security lock to prevent accidental pressing of the power button, and the LED indicator I mentioned above.

ASUS ProArt LC 420

If we’ve been talking about the continent up until now, let’s move on to the content, with this AiO cooler, which, along with the high-end features, also has some design covers typical of the ProArc family. The first thing that catches your eye when looking at its specs is its size, at 420 millimetersin which they are located three Noctua NF-A14 PPC-2000 PWM 140mm industrial cooler fans. Of course, as you might have guessed, this allows the fans to offer optimal dispersion at medium speeds, providing a quieter solution.

We also found athree-phase motor pump, which will be responsible for transferring heat to the radiator of this ASUS ProArt LC 420, and which has also been modified so that its sound is acoustically blended with the sound of the fans, helping to ensure minimal impact in terms of noise. And in that spirit, ASUS opted for a thicker cooler than usual to accommodate the extra coolant so the fans and motor don’t have to work as hard.

The house’s own design touch is found in the lighting, because instead of the classic RGB LED lighting, ASUS installed it quite minimalistic illuminated meter that informs us about the degree of fan speeds, temperature readings or system load. This allows us to quickly check system health with a quick glance without getting distracted from what we’re doing, which content creators will no doubt appreciate.
