Criminals distribute messages with links to Telegram website to access Telegram account data. After following the link, hackers can gain unauthorized access to accounts with the ability to hijack a one-time code from SMS.

Currently, according to the National Police, experts from the Cyber ​​Police Department and the Ukrainian CERT-UA State Computer Response Team have blocked the hosting where the attacks were carried out, but the attackers are “relocated” to the Russian hosting.

why is it dangerous

The greatest danger from such attacks is that the attackers, with their help, gain access to Ukrainian accounts and steal session data, contact lists and correspondence history.

Cyber ​​police urged to be vigilant and not follow suspicious links. It is recommended to set an additional password for two-factor authentication in Telegram (with the incoming SMS code).
